Kevin Tish is a sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. As Vice President of UMD Loop, he works closely with every sub-team to ensure strong collaboration and coordination across the organization. Kevin oversees the rover’s mechanical systems and plays a key role in guiding the team through design, development, and testing. Known for bringing the team together and fostering a collaborative environment, he is a strong leader who is passionate about engineering, innovation, and helping the team succeed both technically and competitively.

Adrian Cires
President
Computer Science / Economics
Adrian is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying Computer Science with a focus on machine learning and a minor in Economics. As President of UMD Loop, he oversees all aspects of the team’s operations—from systems integration to long-term competition strategy. Previously serving as Chief Avionics Engineer, Adrian led the development of the rover’s ROS2-based software architecture and CAN bus communications. With a passion for technical excellence and team leadership, he is committed to pushing the boundaries of student-led innovation in preparation for the University Rover Challenge and beyond.

John D. Paulenich III

Electrical Engineering
John Paulenich III is an electrical engineering student at the University of Maryland who is passionate about building next-generation technologies. With strengths in system design, signal processing, and project leadership, John drives innovation from concept to execution. His work spans hands-on engineering, research, and technical team management, with recognition at national competitions and conferences. John is committed to creating bold, resilient solutions that shape the future of technology.
